I was spellbound whilst watching a documentary amount Mount Everest the other day and the perils that a group of climbers faced during the 1996 climbing season. During that year 15 people died to add to the list of climbers that have perished trying to get to the summit. The best mountaineering equipment in the world couldn`t have saved these folks because freak weather affected climbs that took place on May 11. Many climbers who become stranded on Everest are left behind due to the difficulties faced when trying to rescue them. Due to this a number of corpses are now left on the mountain, some of which can be seen on regular climbing routes. This type of information can be quite difficult for the average person to get their head around but having watched the documentary I was full of admiration for any climber that takes on the might of Everest. Complete with their trusty mountaineering equipment many parties face a testing climb, each and every year. Over the years mountaineering equipment has advanced and climbers will ensure they have the right level of equipment with them before they take on any challenging projects. I`m not sure if I could take on such an amazing feat but watching the documentary about Everest was certainly fascinating.
